Mardi Gras Around Lafayette ! - Part II

We had an absolute blast at last night's Lundi Gras celebration, in Lafayette! Before heading to the parade, we went to Tampico's for a little refreshment. I had my favorite Crab Stuffed Jalapenos and we ordered a round of Coronas to quelsh the heat from these divinely delicious, hot peppers. Ca cest bon, cher!

We met some friends on Johnston Street, to watch the fabulous Queen's Parade where the beads were really flying! The crowd was ready to catch some beads! More beads!

Throw Me Somethin' Sista!

The crowd was wild and went wilder with each passing float!

And just in case that you want to watch TODAY'S New Orleans parades, , LIVE,
just click here for the LIVE web cam! Many thanks to my dear fellow Cajun , Angie, over @ GUMBO WRITER who was kind enough to share this link, on her post, yesterday. Please pay her a visit, when you have time. Enjoy!

After the parade, we were ready for some more refreshment and headed over to the Blue Moon Saloon for a "blow out" Lundi Gras party. The crowd was super charged and in full Zydeco dance mode. Cedric Watson and Bijou Creole were rocking the house. The place was packed to the gills with revelers, the dance floor was rocking, (literally) and the energy was electric!

Oh, the life of a Cajun, is oh SO FUN!!! And , Fat Tuesday, will be the most fun of all!
Lassiez les Bon Temps Rouler! Wish you ALL were here!

HAPPY MARDI GRAS!!!

My daughter, the grandkids and I are planning to attend a dinner at our church this evening -Shrove Tuesday -of pancakes and sausage. This is an annual event, put on by the men of our parish and one we enjoy very much too. The nice thing about this is the meal is one that both the kids will actually eat as they like pancakes almost as much as they like mac'n'cheese!
But boy, those stuffed jalapenos sure do look good too! Ever have pickled jalapenos stuffed with sauerkraut? I had a friend who used to make them and was a bit leery the first time I tried them, but wow, they're really good too!

When I visit your blog Marguerite I always feel like I am going to a party. You are so enthusiastic and your food looks so appetizing – then all the clips with the Cajun music – certainly yours is a party blog – and it’s great! Laissez les bons temps rouler! You can just feel the excitement when you watch the videos - how fun! I could easily eat those crab-stuffed jalapenos for breakfast.

John- Everything shuts down for Mardi Gras! School is out for a week, no mail, and only the restaurants and bars are open. A real play day, for sure!

Jeni- Thanks, cher! Your Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner sounds good, but the pickled stuffed jalapenos sound fabulous! Thanks for coming by!

Angie- You're so welcome, cher, my pleasure. Hope you had a Happy Mardi Gras, too!

Misti- Merci beaucoup! So sorry that you missed it! It was a great time! Thanks for stopping by!

Joanne- You are so right about that, cher! Thanks, it was a blast!
Toasted you on Mardi Gras Day!

Midlife- Thanks, after Mardi Gras, it takes a few days to realize that it's over. I am resting today and I gave up King Cake for lent!

Kat- Merci beaucoup, cher! It was such a bon ton! You'll have to make it, next year!

Jo- Thanks for the sweet compliment! I don't either! Wish you could have been here, too!
