Grilled Stuffed Bell Peppers + More Awards

With all of the beautiful weather we've had this Spring, I've been grilling up a storm and enjoying every minute of it. I just love spending the time outdoors and it's such an easy way to prepare dinner, while taking a nice dip in the pool to relax, after a stressful day at work. Here's a Cajun fave that is very popular at my house and is just "out of this  world" when roasted on the grill. Grilling really brings out the sweetness of the peppers and the spicy filling is oh so good! Cest bon, cher! Enjoy!

Grilled Stuffed Bell Peppers

6 large bell peppers, any color
1 lb. lean ground beef or bulk sausage
1 onion, chopped
1/2 bell pepper, chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1/2 cup mushrooms, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
1 tbs. Cajun or Creole seasoning
1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce

2 small cans tomato sauce
Few shakes of hot sauce
1 cup cooked rice
2 tbs.'s olive oil
Shredded cheese

Cut off tops of bell peppers and wash, inside and out, remove seeds, and set aside. Chop veggies.

Brown ground beef or sausage on medium heat, in large skillet and drain. Add onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapeno, and garlic, and stir fry for 10 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and Cajun seasoning, and mix well. Lower heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add hot sauce and stir well. Add cooked rice and mix gently until well combined. Drizzle a little olive oil, inside and outside of bell peppers. Fill peppers with meat mixture and place in a grill pan. On medium heat, grill on indirect heat for about 30 minutes.Top with cheese, if desired and, grill for 5 more minutes.

These go perfectly with anything else you are grilling, as a delicious side dish or they can easily stand alone as an entree, with a big tossed salad, and French bread. Cest bon, cher!!

I'll be sharing these at  Full Plate Thursday, Potluck FridaySaturday Nite Special, and This Week's Cravings.

So does my daughter, Mandy. The grandkids -no way, Jose! But every now and again, the two little ones go and spend a night and a day with Mandy's best friend and her family and I will have to remember to try your recipe -which sounds truly divine -for a great meal for me and my daughter! This looks fab! I have just about everything to make this, and so, this may be dinner tonight... especially since I've been considering making stuffed peppers! Thanks so much for linking to Friday Potluck again, I love your contributions!

Congratulations! We adore stuffed peppers. Hmmm, haven't made them in a bit...

I'm heartsick about what's going to happen. Guess you've figured out the Morganza Spillway is in my backyard. I've got cousins near Morgan City. One lives in a houseboat.

Besides the lifestyle, home, and property damage (beyond measurement!!!), that fresh water is going to throw the oyster crop into turmoil, for starters. Just when I think it can't get any worse, it does.

Drick- Merci beaucoup for your sweet comment! You're very welcome! Hope you try the grilled bell peppers, they are so good! Cheers back to you, cher!

Gypsy- Wow, and you're so right about the whole thing being a mess! Whew, glad that's over with! lol Merci, hope that yours is fab, too! You're welcome!

Jeni- Thanks, I'm so glad that you like them and want to try them. Since Kurtis liked the enchiladas, maybe he would try a stuffed pepper!:) If not, hope that you and Mandy enjoy them! You're welcome!

THC- Hi and welcome! Thanks so much for your lovely comment and for following. I love your blog, too, and will be following you back! Thanks for stopping by!

Joy- Thanks, so glad you like them! You're so welcome! I will be posting the ones that you gave me, next! Thanks, hope yours is, too!
