It was a beautiful, warm day in Cajun Country, just perfect for tailgating! We had an absolute blast at the U.L.L. Ragin' Cajuns tailgating party, today! The Ragin' Cajuns playing the Troy Trojans, tonight at Cajun Field, in the final home game of the regular season. As I made a pass around the huge tailgating arena, I marveled at just how many Cajun men were out there cooking, the most delicious looking and tasting Cajun cuisine that you could imagine.
Here were a few of my favorites.
Some Cajun buffalo wings and sausage. This was some mighty
good stuff!
This guy was grilling up some venison sausage and pork chops. Cest bon, cher!
These guys were cooking up a giant pot of spicy Cajun chili. Look at the size of that pot! Keeawww, cher!
And quite a few pots of gumbo, too. This one was duck and sausage. Pooh yie, cher!
And what would a Cajun party be without some live Cajun or Zydeco music. The Leon Chavis Band was entertaining the crowd.
Oh the life of a Cajun, is oh so good!! Hope that ya'll are having fun, too! Let the good times roll, cher, and have all the fun you can !

dang, now I'm hungry again!
You're blog is like a ray of sunshine, and believe me it's needed here in Britain today! Bad weather doesn't begin to describe it. As for the food, I'm going to put some smoky paprika in the pork stew later today, as a nod to your feast!

Now this is " right up my alley" ! :)
Can I just tell you that your weekends always look like a lot of fun???? I'm jealous!
Wish we had your weather - it has rained here on every single day this November - I am beginning to resemble a drowned shrimp!
I am tempted to fly over to warmer Cajun country and lokk out for a nice young lady with green eyes who likes dancing and eating LOL ~ Eddie
You are one lucky lady!!
It's a beautiful day here in Southern California, but somewhat quieter and more subdued than yours, have fun.
Real men always cook... and with real fire...

Carol- Glad you like it, cher! It was all dee lish, although I did have to cut myself off, after a while.
Cathy- It's the Cajun way, cher! Wish you were here. Thanks for coming by!
I would have loved to go to your tailgating party and sample some of that good looking spicy Cajun chili. But I was watching the football game of the University of Georgia “Dawgs” against the Georgia Tech “Yellow Jackets” and wondering what was going on at my daughter’s house since she went to UGA and was for the Dawgs and her husband went to GA Tech and is an avid fan of the Yellow Jackets…. Must not have been happy feeding time… better party with the Cajuns!
Marguerite, do you think I would make a good 'honorary' Cajun?
Have I the right personality, flair, appetite, energy, drive, enthisiasm, sense of fun etc? All I have to do is to learn your fancy dance steps and try not to tread on people's toes! Oh and I need to brush up on my French! LOL ~ Eddie x
I love venison sausage. Looks like a fun tailgate. So much good food.
as to your comment on my blo g- can you believe crawfish hamburger helper ?Eyew! Of course, I didn't learn to be a Louisiana cook until much later after that - my parents (and I) were not from Louisiana! but still...eyewww! laughing...
anyway--I love coming by here- brings back those memories - and that gumbo is so dark--I love a dark thick gumbo!
Eddie- Oh my, so sorry to hear about your dreary weather. I will send some Cajun "fairy dust" your way! Wish you were here!
Kat- Yes, I am! Merci for coming by, cher, and have a wonderful week!
Elizabeth- I love Southern Cal. weather, especially winter. You had quite a party, too!
Dave- You got that right, cher! You would fit right in with this bunch!
Joanna- Thanks for the sweet compliment! That sausage was fabulous. You're welcome, we did!
Vagabonde- So good to hear from you, cher! Merci, how I wish that you could have been here. The Ragin' Cajuns fans really know how to tailgate. And that Chili was the best!
Eddie- I hereby pronounce you an Honorary Cajun! You love the Cajun food, music, and people, and that is all that's required. Are you sure that you don't have Cajun blood? lol
Midlife- The venison sausage has the best flavor, especially in a gumbo with chicken! Cest bon, cher!
Thanks for coming by!
Kathryn- Better late than never, sha! The duck gumbo is dark and thick and oh, so good! Happy to share it all with you!
