We had an absolute blast at the final Spring concert of the season, at the Rhythms on the River music series, last night, in Lafayette! It was a lovely warm evening, although a bit humid, and if you were dancing, it was downright hot! The Town Square at River Ranch was overflowing with a huge, rambunctious crowd, ready to relieve some stress! This is how Cajuns relieve stress and we've had more than our share, lately! We like to live life to it's fullest, because we never know what tomorrow will bring! Lassiez les bon temp rouler, cher!
Many people went straight from work and decided to dine on the patio at The City Club Bar and Grille. We opted for the Shrimp Fettucinni, at the Rouse's Market booth.
There were long lines at the drink booths and these guys could barely keep up with the demand for ice cold beer. Really hits the spot, after a stressful day, at work!
The legendary Wayne Toups and Zydecajun took the stage and when I tell you that this band was HOTTER THAN HOT, then you know that I mean it, cher! They were boogie-ing down!
And there was a whole lotta dancing , two-stepping, and jitter-bugging going on! This crowd was lovin' this band! One of the best that Cajun country has to offer! Geaux Wayne!
I ran into two dear friends of mine who were celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary. And these two sure know how to party! Happy Anniversary G. and J. and many, more! Cheers!

And here's a little clip that I took of this fabulous band. I had to upload it to You Tube because it was too large for Blogger. Check out my You Tube Page, when you get a chance, under Bayougirl! Subscribe, I'll be adding a lot more, soon! Wishing ya'll a fun and happy weekend mon cher amis!! Merci beaucoup for stopping by!

With all the troubles going on there, Louisianna definitely deserves an entertaining reprieve like this. And boy, do you folks know how to reprieve :)
When I read your blog I touch my roots and feel up-lifted, refreshed. (Thank you!) For the deep sadness is what's going on in the Gulf. News footage deep in Plaquemines Parish (and elsewhere) makes me sick, really sick!
Marguerite, I made your spicy shrimp and pasta bake last night, but my local supermarket didn't have any jalapenos, so it wasn't quite a spicy as I had hoped, however it was really good, and there's some left over for tonight!
Looks like a great party..... you all need something to lift your spirits right now.
You just party, party, party. What a life, hey?
Could do with a cold beer right now! Cheers cher! After a few I might say, "I'm not a think as some dinkle peep I am and the stander I long here the drinker I get!" Glad you are still enjoying life to the full. Hugs ~ Eddie
Ahhh...just watching this makes me so homesick! I can't wait to get there in September!
Dear Marguerite ,

It's a beatiful life like a song.

ahhh....it was the last one of the season. driving down camellia was quite a task on thursday night.
Hey Mags... sorry I haven't been around for awhile... Lots of activity around paradise lately.
So glad everyone is getting on with getting on... Hope someone makes the bastards pay.
Joanne- Thanks, it helps to take a break from the constant worrying about it, if only for a few hours. We might be down, but we're not out, yet! Cheers, cher!
Kittie- Thanks for your sweet compliment, cher! You're so welcome! It is so sad, but until we demand changes from our government, things like this are going to happen.
Shammickite- Thanks so much for trying the shrimp recipe. The jalapenos definitely give it a kick, but I'm glad that you enjoyed it, anyway. Thanks, we most certainly do!
ellen- Yes, it is a fun way to live. We believe in celebrating life, each day. The Cajun "joie de vivre!
Eddie- You are a riot! Go ahead and have a few cold beers! After all, it's the weekend.lol Cheers, cher!
Dee- Thanks so much for stopping by and for your nice comment. I know how you feel because I lived away, for many years. If you can cook the Cajun food, it really helps, but the music and the people are what I missed the most.
I love that cajuns celebrate in the midst of chaos. I think there's a lesson here for all of us!
You makin` me jealous, Cher!
God Bless LA
Aloha from Hawaii

Jivago- Merci, cher amis! You are like a breath of fresh air! So glad you enjoyed it! The summer parties will be coming up, soon! Wish you were here! Please try the video again, cher, it's working fine from here. Cheers!
Deb- Thanks so much for your nice comment! I have to agree with you, we do! You're not that far away, you should come to one of our big festivals! So much fun!
Kat- Merci, cher! I'm so glad you enjoy them. They are a labor of love, for sure, but fun! Thanks for stopping by!
Jo- So good to hear from you, cher! Yes I do have a guestroom, but it is currently occupied by my son, for the summer. But we would squeeze you in, anytime! :)
Janine- Merci beaucoup for your sweet, kind comment, mon ami, and your prayers! You are the best! I will be happy to send you the link when I find it! lol I went on to copy it and couldn't find it either. I'm just not Youtube savvy, yet!
Do you like ghost stories? One on Plato for you!
It's a hoot!
I see they are trying something new with the oil spill - hope they fix it quick.
Hugs ~ Eddie
I can see how you may get pretty warm dancing to that beat – do they ever have slow dances? The doctor told my husband that he needs to do some exercises, like dancing. He is self conscious, but I hope he learns as I like to dance, of course around Georgia the type of dancing they do is not like in your area – square dancing maybe. The more I hear about the spill the more I get mad with BP, they certainly cut corners with safety (as usual.) I don’t trust them that much, they are too greedy. I hope that it won’t be too much of a disaster, but it is a disaster I am afraid. I wish people in Louisiana were not so nice and more like the French – everyone in the streets marching and demanding that more be done, like NOW. It should be a priority for the nation, bar none.
With all this dancing you Cajuns must be the fittest people in the US.
Girl, you do Louisiana proud! Rocking on the River is a testament to that land! Allez Nous!
LaToya- Hi and welcome, cher! So nice to meet another blogger from Lafayette! I always leave 10 to 15 minutes before the band stops playing, to avoid the traffic. Thanks for stopping by and for becoming a follower!
Dave- So good to see you, cher! I understand busy, that is my middle name! It's our way of relieving the stress of the whole thing. Me too! Merci for stopping by, mon ami!
Trish- This is a great tragedy, but there are still many things to celebrate and life will go on, just very different than before.
Cloudia- One of these days, cher, you're going to come here and who knows, I might make it to Hawaii! We would have a blast, either way! Aloha!
Eddie- So sorry, Monsiuer, but I'm still trying to get over to Plato's. I just love a good ghost story and I will be there soon! They, BP, are not doing anything but making it worse, with the chemicals. That is the worse part!
