I was recently surprised and honored to receive The Trendy Blog Award. This very special award was passed on to me by January Asia @ The Caffeinated Globe. The blog is co-owned by Steven Hui, and it is a delight to visit! Ya'll really need to stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee and check out their wonderful ideas, recipes, and photos. Merci beaucoup for the great award! Also, be sure to stop by and see Tara, who was the creator of the award, at The Trendy Treehouse , another fabulous, trendy blog!

Here's the latest on the Coast Guard's deadline for B.P., which is tonight, at midnight. It seems to me that this should have been their deadline a long time ago! What do you think?

congrats on the award.
re BP. I haven't been keeping up with it. It's so heartbreaking but what good is a deadline? Just a bunch of chest thumping. Do they have an 'or else'? Because otherwise a deadline is meaningless.
Well done with the award; great recipes on your blog! 'nuff said on the spill.
CONGRATULATIONS on the recognition of your most excellent trendiness, my lovely Marguerite! A well deserved award indeed - made even better by the fact that you have shared it with moi.
I am on a little blogging hiatus for the summer, but promise to feature this award and the darling "life is good" award from Eddie Bluelights on my blog ASAP.
I am cheered, humbled and grateful for the honor. Thank you so much. As for the oil spill.... I think the United Kingdom ought to send it's oil executives over here with straws and have them suck it all up. What unspeakable devastation to our gulf, our beautiful southern peripheral states, and to our world. Pitiful.
The BP spill is almost beyond comprehension. How can drilling even be allowed when there are no ways to stop the oil in an emergency like this? No safety net? I'll never understand that kind of thinking. It just keeps getting worse and worse :/
And thanks so much for bringing Whole Latte Life into your Trendy Club, a very chic sounding award indeed!
Congrats on the award! You've been trendy in my book for a long time.
Besides the deadline, the administration has asked BP to delay or reduce dividend payout and to put cleanup funds in an independently administered escrow account. It will either get this or build a political and diplomatic case to directly take over BP's American operations. I appreciate that a lot people believe that should have happened already, but it's a lot easier said than done.
Dear Marguerite , Congrulations for your award and I am so honored, prouded that you have passes to me. I will give a post and chose my ten "trendy blogs" lately tomorrow and wıll inform you.
Thank you again including me :)
Best wishes, love and hugs.
- I shouldn't have to find say anything about "oil". It's a big sadness for me!
Congratulations on your award, Marguerite
Well I am very touched Marguerite, by your kindness, your loveliness, your generosity, your attractiveness and other endless attributes I could bestow on a geat friend and lady. Swoon! swoon!
Thank you very much for the Trendy Blog Award for Plato's blog.
I am coupling this with your earlier lovely Blogger Buddie Award for my Clouds and Sivery Linings blog so I can do a BOGOFF promotion for all the 10 lucky people who I am interviewing for the honour right now LOL. My award to them will be conditional on them answering a very searching question LOL. All will be revealed in due course.
Regarding the BP deadline - it is impossible I am afraid but it should have been done at least a month ago.
I do believe the dividend should be cancelled though and the proceeds granted to the many thousands whose lives have been ruined and to try to clear up this awful mess. I heard the ridiculous statement by BP's chief exec saying the effect on the environment will be minimal. What planet does that guy live on?
The big hope is that the cyurrents will take the spill into the Atlantic and away from your beautiful coastline.
My dear Marguerite, you are not only priceless but a jewel too .. thanks for the award - I don't know 'bout the trendy bit, but I'll try to keep up ....as for the currents, one thought would be for the oil to get sucked right on to BP's own front lawn, but not even I would wish for that....thanks again my good friend
Congratulations, Marguerite, on the award. You've got a terrrrrific blog and deserve this award and more!! What I'm saying, cher, is that you and your blog are class acts!
I'm really humbled you included my blog in your list and thank you for your fab comment...coming from you, Cher, these are compliments I can dine out on for a long time. You are an angel!
About BP, for openers I think the company should be banned from our waters. Secondly, well, that would put them under 'expletive deleted'....
ellen- Thanks! The "or else" is that they either pay up and start an escrow account for the cleanup or the government will take control! In other words, S--- or get off the pot!
John- Merci for your sweet compliment! I'm afraid we'll be talking about this one, for quite a while, whether we want to or not!
Alix- Merci beaucoup for your lovely comment, cher! You are so welcome! You are one of the trendiest and most lovable people I know! Cheers!
Joanne- I totally agree with you, even though I know that the 6 month moratorium on deep water drilling will surely send South Louisiana into a huge recession. A lot of people I know work on those rigs, but it is for their own protection, too.
You are very welcome and most deserving, cher! A very chic award for a very chic lady! Cheers!
K.- Thanks for the nice compliment, cher! They could have called in the military, from the beginning, since the spill is in Federal waters. So mind boggling!
Jivago- Merci beaucoup, for your kind comment! You are so welcome, cher ami! Very well deserved! You are a very trendy guy and your poetry is so wonderful! Cheers!
It is all such a sad situation! Thanks for the good wishes, love and hugs! All three, back to you!
Eddie- Thanks, cher! Oh, flattery will get you everywhere! lol You are very welcome and deserving! Your sense of humor at Plato's makes you a trendsetter, in my book! Can't wait to see the question and answers! lol
So sweet of you to sympathize with us! It's one giant mess, for sure!
Congratulations!!! You deserve this!!! And so glad to see that perhaps something may finally be done to fix the gulf situation...Love you so much! Janine XO
You know my post but I promised to
inform.
Thank you again, dear Marguerite. It's a big honour for me. All my blog friends are the best! Cheers!
Drick- Merci beaucoup for your kind comment, cher! You are such a dear, sweet friend! You are quite welcome and I think that your blog is very trendy! I know what you mean about BP, but they'll "get theirs", sooner or later. Still praying for ya'll! Hope it's not too bad, there!
Kittie- Thanks so much, cher for your sweet compliments! You're very welcome! Your blog and writing are fabulous and you are a very trendy gal, with Louisiana roots! Birds of a feather... lol
I totally agree about BP!
Janine- Merci, cher! You know that you would have gotten one of these if you accepted awards! At least tomorrow, BP will have to meet with Obama, so things are looking up. Keep praying!
Jivago- I just love a man who keeps his word! Merci for coming by, again. It was so sweet of you, mon ami! You're welcome, cher!
Congrats on your award! Very deserving!
p.s. - my dad says he likes viewing your blog too! "Buddy" says that sometimes he clicks on your site just to hear some good Cajun music and tap his feet! ;-)
Congratulations of your trendy tree blog award-awesome.
I can't watch the oil spill any longer than a few minutes a day, it breaks my heart every time I watch it.
Thank you friend!!!
We pray for the gulf and for your wonderful way of life...

Congrats on your award Marguerite.
My daughter is in Desting and said the oil is there...so sad.
Looks like this is all talk...people forget that Obama loves cap and trade and guess which company was his big supporter of cap and trade last year...yep, BP.
Mandy- Merci, cher! So glad that Buddy enjoys the music clips! Of course being a fellow Cajun, he would! :) Thanks for coming by, cher!
Velva- Thanks so much! I know, it is very hard to watch, even harder to watch our local news. At least now, they will have to pay up. Merci for stopping by!
Cloudia- You're welcome, gal pal! You are one trendy chica! Thanks very much for your prayers and hugs! Aloha!
January- Yes, it is beyond belief! You're so welcome, it was totally my pleasure, cher! And likewise, merci beaucoup again, for the fab award and your very kind words. And thanks, also for the linkage, it is so appreciated! Cheers!
Katherine- Merci, my dear fellow Cajun! So sad about Destin, a favorite Cajun vacation hot spot!
I am very disappointed in our President, too. But, at least now, there is an escrow account, so we can still hope.
Well, hot diggity dawg! Thank you, friend. I'll wear the new blingage (or at least my blog will) with pride!
