Cajun Holiday Fun
Hoping that you all had a wonderful New Year's celebration! Mine was fab and I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by to wish me a Happy New Year. I just love the beginning of a new year and January is one of my favorite months because 1. the holidays are over, and 2. January 6, better known as the twelfth night, signals the beginning of carnival season in Cajun country and the beginning of the celebration of Mardi Gras! YAY! The celebration will continue with each Krewe having it's own ball and parties, ending on Mardi Gras Day, which is a little later this year, on March 8th. Lots of fun ahead, but here are a few pics of Cajun fun over the holidays. Still have lots more pics and videos to upload, so stay tuned.

Here's a little clip of the "packed to the gills" crowd, rockin' and rollin' to the spicy sounds of this hotter than chili peppers band! Let the good times roll, cher! Oh the life of a Cajun is oh so fun!

A bit late getting over . . . had 'tummy ache' with all the food over Christmas and the new year LOL. I was far too greedy!
I now resemble The Incredible Hulk LOL.
Seriously, congratulations to Drick.
And I am delighted you enjoyed your hols and think you are absolutely fabulous the way you organise everything, entertain, look after people from far and wide, keep posting, keep cooking, keep dancing, keep blogging . . . . LOL
I have enjoyed blogging with you immensely for, let's see' it must be a little over a year, and look forward to more for 2011 and into the future. You have a super sense of humour (thank God! LOL) Hugs ~ Eddie
I love stopping by your blog. It's forever upbeat and exhibits the most delicious foods anywhere! Happy 2011!
Congrats Drick :) Nice!
Happy 2011 and beyond dear Marguerite!
Bonjour Marguerite – congratulations on the winner. Your blog is full of delectable looking food – you must have had a great time during the holidays. As you saw on my blog we had snow on Christmas day in Nashville then returning home to Atlanta found out that it snowed that day too, first time since 1882. In France people give their New Years wishes during the whole month of January – Christmas cards are hard to find in France as Christmas is usually celebrated mostly for kids. People exchange presents for New Year and party, party and party. So I wish you “Une Bonne et Heureuse Année” chère Marguerite, that it brings you much fun, happiness and inspiration for more wonderful recipes.
