Festival Weekend Finale'! - Day 5 !

On Sunday, my guests and I started off our day with a good Cajun breakfast! I made eggs benedict, French toast, jalapeno hash browns, and cornmeal biscuits, and served it all up with lots of strong Community coffee! After all, we had another whole day of walking and dancing ahead of us, plus, I always love to spoil my guests and make them feel at home. It is the Cajun way, cher!

When we arrived at Scene Chevron, the place was filling up fast, for a true Cajun legend, D.L. Menard, who has been entertaining Cajun country with his unique style of traditional, Cajun music, for over 40 years and is still going strong! A surprise included a few special guests, including Sonny Landreth, and members of the Jambalaya Cajun Band. The results were amazing and the crowd was super charged and raring to go!

Allons danser, cher!

After all of this dancing, we decided to catch a little AC and refresh with a cold drink. We headed over to Agave' Mexican Cantina and ordered a round of Coronas, and a few Margaritas. We also had some of their delicious homemade tortilla chips and salsa.

Our next stop at the festival, was at Scene Popeyes , for the fantastic, La Excelencia show. This fabulous salsa orchestra, from Puerto Rico, reaches through all the barriers, with it's "salsa dura" sounds and fresh, original music.. The enormous crowd was lovin' this band!

By then, it was time to head back over to Scene' Chevron, for the next band. It was a was a show that I had been looking forward to all week and Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas were about to take the stage. The mood was estatic and the crowd was ready for some action! Nathan and his "hotter than chipotle sauce" band did not disappoint, and the crowd just couldn't sit still for this one!

After this great show and dancing, we headed over to the Fais Do Do food court, where I couldn't resist having one of my favorites, a Shrimp Poboy from the Lagneaux's Restaurant booth. Plus, I downed two bottles of water!

It was around this time that my camera started having some issues. It told me that the batteries were dead and that the memory card was full, and I had already maxed out my other camera, too. So, I just danced for the rest of the evening! Cie la vie, cher! Sometimes you just have to go with the flow!

It was one for the books! A blast, cher!
A bon ton! A veritable marathon of food, music, and fun!

Oh, the life of a Cajun is oh, so fun!!!

And, last but not least, here's a little clip of the the Krewe de Canaille, who were out in full force, for this waltz on the patio, at Scene Chevron! This one's for you, Eddie!

Hope that ya'll are resting up this week, mon amis, because we have the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival coming up, this weekend, (April 30-May 2), and don't forget about Part II of Jazz Fest, in New Orleans! See ya'll there! Merci beaucoup for stopping by!

Another festival this weekend? Marguerite, I'm having a hard time keeping up with the energy on the blog, never mind in person! I'll just have to take your advice, and let the music take me higher and higher. Now was that the song by Sly and the Family Stone?

I was just telling my husband about all of the festivals and wonderful food you come in contact with, and how dancing keeps the lbs off! Sounds perfect to us. Where do we sign up?

Well thank you cher for the mention and for saying the waltz clip was just for me. I can only imagine how nice it might have been to dance with you, but I guess your video camera might have got in the way and I might have trodden on your beautiful red cow girl boots!! LOL

With all that dancing you must be super fit!! I used to run a lot but that was years ago, but I was very fit then, pulse rate 47 at rest. But dancing with you it might be somewhat quicker!! LOL

Enjoy the rest of your festival. Hugs ~ Eddie

Day 5! Day 5! My God, when will it all end?

The breakfast menu seals the deal: When we finally get to Lafayette, we're staying with you if we have to camp out in the back yard.

Oh I just wonder as well, are you a marathon runner?

And can you sit down in a chair to relax or does someone have to tie you into it? LOL

Such energy!! You must be 'swigging' glucose laden drinks continuously!

Are all Cajun people do energetic?
Were you born on Krypton? LOL
Hugs - ejoy the remaining festival - Eddie

Joanne- Yes, two more! I am going to the Crawfish Festival on Fri. and Sat. and then, to Jazz Fest, in New Orleans, on Sunday! Yes, you sure know your music, cher!

ellen- Thanks, cher! I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! Our next big one, after this weekend, is in October. Sure hope that you can come to that one! You're so welcome, my pleasure!!

judi- Merci beaucoup for your lovely comment, cher! I'm so happy that you had a bon ton and enjoyed the festival. You really should move here! Cheers!

Nancy- Dancing is such a fun way to stay fit and is much more fun than working out at the gym! Just crank-up the videos and cut the rug, in the living room, cher! :)

Eddie- You're welcome, cher! I thought of you because it was a waltz and it was the Krewe de Canaille! lol You are such a hoot! Merci, you can be sure that I will!

Kat- Thank goodness something made me stop! lol I get my dancing in, in between clips. So glad you enjoyed them! Thanks, cher! Wish you were here!

K.- It never ends! It's just on to the next one! lol See you at the Crawfish Festival! Believe it or not, but I've had people camp out in my backyard! :)

Eddie- So good to see you, Mr. Hyde! Looks like someone forgot to lock the liquor cabinet, again?! lol I thought maybe you were out running! I don't run, too hard on the joints! I've been relaxing all evening and I'm just so relaxed that I'm almost asleep and no, I don't like to be tied up! Since I don't like sugar, I certainly would never drink a "glucose ridden drink" but, I do swig plenty of Spring water! And yes, most Cajun people are energetic, you know it's in the genes! The joie de vivre, cher! Krypton? Is that near Church Point? No, I'm from Abbeville! Thanks, you know that I will! You canaille, you!

Jivago- Merci beaucoup for your lovely comment, mon cher ami! I am so happy that you like to dance to the Cha Chas! Enjoy and have all the fun you can, cher! Cheers!

Cloudia- Yeah, you right, Gal pal! Aloha, cher!

Omigoodness, you have more fun than anyone I know...! Where do you get all the energy? Oh, I know -- from all that wonderful food you eat. And then you dance it off.

I was born in the wrong part of the world. :-)

John- Hellava mess is right! Depends on which way the wind blows it. I sure hope not! Thanks for coming by! Have a great "grillin' weekend!

Janine- Merci for the sweet compliment, cher!, The music is what drives the dancing and both are wonderful, cher, and the food is even better! My weekend, a let down? Guess you didn't see the part about me going to the Crawfish Festival, starting this evening, and Jazz Fest in New Orleans, on Sunday! lol Wish you were here, and hope you have a fabulous weekend, mon ami!

Jo- Great to see you, cher! I have more fun than anyone I know, too! Well, maybe, except for my kids! The energy comes from our Acadian ancestors, it's in the DNA! You really need to move here! Have a fun weekend and merci for stopping by!
