Rockin' on the Bayou + T.G.I.F.

It's been an absolute blast here in Cajun Country, the past few days and the weekend is only beginning! Here are a few pics of last night's "Rockin' on the River" concert in River Ranch, featuring Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys. The crowd anxiously waited for the band to start.

Dancing, dancing, and more dancing is all this crowd wanted to do!

Steve and the Boyz, rocking the crowd!

Then, tonight at the T.G.I.F. block party, at Downtown Alive, there was more music and more dancing to the awesome blues sounds of The Marty Christian Band. They kicked things off for the fabulous Henry Gray and the Cats and were really getting down!

Henry Gray is 84 years young and can still play the daylights out of that keyboard! They were hotter than Tabasco sauce and reminded me of N'awlins.

The crowd was hungry and ready to eat. Joy's Curbside had a line that seemed to go so slow, but it was worth the wait. This is the best for Jambalya and Hot Sausage Poboys.

I will be headed to the swamp this weekend for more Cajun adventures and a barbeque, before going to the weekly dance at Whiskey River on Sunday. Horace Trahan and The Ossun Express will entertain the crowd. Oh the life of a Cajun, is oh so fun!

Hope ya'll have a fun and happy weekend! Lassiez les bon temps rouler!

Have all the fun you can!

Dave- No actually, dancing increases your energy level, especially when you've been doing it over a lifetime. It is great exercise and so much fun, too.

Angie- Did you mean "blogged down", cher? lol Hope you have a fun weekend! No time for Twitter.

Kat- Merci, cher! I will dance one for you and have a Margarita in your honor. Wish you were here!

Mandy- I would love it, if you did. We've got the big one coming up next weekend. (Festival Acadiens) I wish you could make it!

John- Yes we do! We were born with it and it just stays with us till the end. Have a fun weekend!

Joanne- I am going to look around a little more, for the table, but I'll be celebrating, just the same.:)

I'll be spending my weekend pretty much the same as always -a little cooking, a lot of dishwashing and stitching, stitching, stitching away while you're swinging and swaying to the beat of that Cajun music and enjoying all that great food!
Peace and hope we both continue to enjoy doing these things.

Jeni- There's a rule at my house: Whoever does the cooking, DOES NOT have to do the dishes!! It seems fair to me. Thanks for stopping by!

Janine- Merci for the sweet comment, cher. I will always visit your blog, whether it's a Sniffle or a Smile! :)

Kathryn- Yes, it was a good game. And you're right about the partying, cher. Lassier les bon ton rouler!

Carol- You are right on target on that one, cher! We are getting some heavy pour downs, this morning, but hopefully it will clear up, later.

Elizabeth- Thanks for the lovely compliments, cher! Life is rather eventful, here, but I wouldn't want it any other way!

Julie- Why sure, cher, anytime! We are addicted to fun, it's the Cajun way! Merci, for visiting!
