What a blast we had on Saturday, tailgating at the U.L.L. (University of Louisiana at Lafayette ) homecoming game, in Lafayette. (also, my alma mater and my daughter's) Cajun Field played host to 21,000 Ragin' Cajuns fans decked out in red and hot peppers and cooking up a storm.
The Krewe Des Amis tent was my favorite, by far! Dynamite, food, decorating, and music!
When I tell you that these Cajuns know how to throw a tailgating party like nothing you've ever seen......... And Lawd have mercy, cher, there was some good eating at Cajun Field today! This guy was grilling up some crab-stuffed mushrooms and boudin. Both, out of this world!!!
And what's a Cajun party without some fabulous live Cajun music provided by Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin' Cajuns. This is one tight band that blew the roof off the place with their high energy tunes. Let the good times roll, cher!
My camera battery went out, 19 seconds into the video that I was taking.
So, I danced for the rest of the time. But at least you can get an idea of the fun!

This one only lasted 9 seconds. Cie la vie!

You guys sure know how to tailgate!
I don't believe you guys; another party!
It's 7:30AM Monday morning and I'm hungry after reading your post. Of course, I'm ALWAYS hungry after visiting your blog.
I think it's time you work on a book of Cajun recipes.
Now really, Marguerite. You will have a hard time convincing me that ANYONE leaves the tailgating parties and goes into the stadium to watch the game! Way too much fun going on out there.
Geaux Cajuns! Geaux Tigers! Geaux Saints (undefeated - and what a great game against Miami last night)! Aren't we blessed to live in the epicenter of "TailGator" country? :)
Linked to ya today, and thanks again for the new blog bling.
I did not have as much fun as those Cajuns did, for sure. But Saturday we watched the Bama vs Tenn game and almost had a heart attack at the end!!!
Those stuffed mushrooms look so darn good!
Now that's tailgating at it's best! What a spread!
I'll take some of those crab-stuffed mushrooms. I had a quiet weekend. Still...enjoyable though. :)
Yeah you right - dat's some good stuff there! :-)
Bonjour, Owen! So glad you could make it!! I saved you a big plate of wings and a few dances!!! Thanks for coming over, cher!

As Carol said, nobody knows how to tailgate like Cajuns, that's fo' sho!
Cal. Girl- Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment! I'm working on my cookbook, as we speak. Merci for stopping by!
Joanne- This party started at 10 am, so by game time, we needed a break! But, oh the after-parties went on all night!
Angie- Yes, we are blessed, indeed! The epicenter of fun! Thanks for the linkage, cher, and you are so deserving and welcome!!
Kat- It was a fun, football weekend, here, too. You do pretty well, yourself with the tailgating, cher! Love that 7 layer salad that you posted.

I loved the part where your camera quit after nine seconds so you just danced the rest of the time. Yep, you sure do know how to have fun!
