Festival Finale' + Dancin' in the Mud

Heavy overnight rains turned the final day of Festival Acadiens et Creole into a bit of a mud bath, and a good pair of boots was needed to maneuver the muddy terrain. However, the mud did not dampen the spirits of this group of Cajuns, in the least, and the show and the dancing went on! A testament to a Cajun's love of a good party, no matter what!

Many others opted for bare feet, if they were doing some serious dancing. And some serious dancing was going on, indeed, as you can see for yourself. It would take a lot more than a little rain and mud to stop these Cajuns from having their good time!

Some really got into it because after all, mud does wash off, and it will be another long year before this festival returns. The lovely blonde in the photo is my dear daughter, and let me tell you, she was dancing up a storm with this guy from New Orleans! I took a lot of videos and will be posting them, here and there, for a long while to come! A Cajun Woodstock, indeed! Now do you know what it means to be a Cajun?

Saturday- Balfa Toujours

Sunday- Lost Bayou Ramblers

We were in New Orleans over the weekend, visiting family. I was not there thirty minutes when they brought a 30" shrimp po boy to the house from up the road and OH MY! It was so goooooooooood. It had something like a tartar sauce spread on it with hundreds of shrimp and those fried onions and pickles on the french bread!
We also got the Saturday night rain and we woke up to the house being surrounded by water!! We were on the West Bank, but I guess with all the rain, it just wasn't draining fast enough, but eventually it did. It was like Katrina Deja Vu!! We had a wonderful time and visit with family.

Judi- Yes, it is quite a work out! Especially the Zydeco dancing. So much more fun than going to the gym.

The Things We Carried- Welcome and thanks so much for visiting! It was like Woodstock, with the mud and all. So much fun!

auverset- Merci, cher! So glad you liked it! You know how the Cajuns are?

Angie- Son of a gun, we're gonna have big fun .... Wish you could've been here, cher!

ANULAL- Thanks! Dancing is a healthy activity and will keep you in good shape.

John- No wrestling, just dancing! A little mud never hurt anyone. :)

Carol- Wow, I would love to, if I'm in town! I may be going to New Orleans to meet up with another blog friend. I'll let you know, soon!

Kat- Sounds like you had a blast! And that Poboy sounds divine! It was a lot of rain, but at least it came overnight and didn't ruin the fun!
