And here's a little clip of the Krewe de Canaille, dancing to Le Dance de Mardi Gras, at Randol's dance hall in Lafayette. Just one of the many ways we celebrate Mardi Gras in Cajun country. Crank it up for this one, and let the good times roll!

I find myself zig zagging from one recipe to the next and not leaving a comment. Those crab cakes look SO DAMN GOOD as does the muffeleta and the dip and, well, all of it.

Happened on a video how-to make a King Cake. It made me want to try. They used a coffee can to keep the King Cake evenly circular with a decent hole in the middle.

Hello Marguerite! Hope your carnival is going great and a big time had this grand weekend leading up to Mardi Gras. All of your offerings are out of sight, as usual and always so damn tempting... meaning throw out mine to make room for yours at the buffet this year... hey, do y'all take off for Lundi too? some stores around here close for a pre-lenten long weekend.. have a blast, I know you will...

I'm back to savour these sinfully delicious dishes. I'm ravenous after my blogging break and could eat a horse bit seeing as you don't serve them I'll dig in to everything. LOL.
Glad to be back. Hope you have/had a great weekend.

Those bloody mary's look so good, their bright red colors and cornbread muffins to die for, I always life the individual servings of cornbread, more crunch around the edges.

Hmmm, think I need to sip a couple of those Bloody Mary's so I can give this some thought. Happy Mardi Gras, Cher! (Caught a lot of beads during the holidays and mailed a pkg. to a fellow blogger in South Africa to spread the joy.)

Marguerite - you are killing me with all of these great recipes - I want to try them all today. We don't do anything for Carnival or Mardi Gras, but I did make muffuletta pasta last night so I'll consider it part of the celebration.

This makes me SO homesick for Louisiana! I wish I could've been there yesterday, but I did manage to find a pretty good king cake and also went to Popeye's and met another New Orleanian!
