Friday Festival Kick- Off + Zydeco Zip

Things are really hopping here in Cajun Country. So much fun all around town and so many visitors, too. The Festival Acadiens kick- off will begin, tomorrow, (woo-hoo) at 11:30 am., with a special Bach Lunch, in Parc Sans Souci in downtown Lafayette. Lunches will be available for sale from, Joey's Specialty Foods, Creole Lunch House, Coyote Blues, and Zeus Downtown. Entertaining the crowd will be Corey Ledet His Zydeco Band.

And will continue on, at 5:30pm, with the youthful traditional Cajun sounds of Feufollet, for Downtown Alive. Around 7:00pm, the infamous Jimmy C. Newman, Doug Kershaw, and Jo-el Sonnier will take the stage and spin their magic, at Parc International This year's Festival Acadiens et Creole is dedicated to these three legends.

And don't forget the after-party at the Blue Moon Saloon, with Cedric Watson and Bijou Creole. Pooh yie, cher! Gonna have big fun on the bayou!!! It will be a whirlwind of activity for the next three days, so I may be absent from my blog desk for a bit.

Wish you ALL were here!!!
Ya'll are the best!!! Merci beaucoup for visiting!

Let the good times roll, cher, let em' roll!!!
Have a wonderful, fun weekend, ya'll!!!

Oh that pie! Sin on a plate. :D

I wished I could attend the Festival Acadiens et Creole. (I follow the organizers on Twitter and won the coolest festival package -- a great coffee table book, CD, etc.)

Have ANOTHER great weekend, homegirl.
